The impulse to heal is real and powerful and lies within the client. Our job is to evoke the healing power, to meet its tests and needs and to support it in its expression and development. We are not the healers. But we can be the context in which healing can happen.” -Ron Kurtz
From a place of compassion, non-judgment and curiosity, I work with clients to help them identify conscious and unconscious patterns of behaviour and thoughts that impact their way of standing in the world. I work with clients in mindfulness and self-attunement, gently connecting to the body’s wisdom in order to make sense of their experiences. Clients are supported toward meaningful change that is sustained through new skills and beliefs, improved self-awareness and a new way of standing in the world.
I work with clients to integrate therapeutic progress into their lives outside of my office by naming strategies used in session and by explicitly practicing them. Further, with my client’s informed consent and best interest in mind, I also share insights gained in session with schools, appropriate support sources or interested third parties.
In body-centered psychotherapy, the body is used as a doorway into the hidden beliefs (core materials) that influence and shape ourselves, our relationships and our self-image. Within the healing relationship between the client and therapist, core material can safely emerge into our consciousness to be re-evaluated and transformed. This leaves the individual with space to integrate new ways of being that are more satisfying and effective in life.
Help For All Ages
My approach in therapy allows people of all ages and all walks of life to feel comfortable and safe. Emotion work is done from a place of curiosity and mindfulness, allowing anyone to explore emotions in a gentle, responsible way and at their own pace. I borrow from a variety of therapeutic approaches such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, solution focused therapy, and play therapy, in order to tailor therapy to individual needs and preferences.

My experience as a school-based psychologist provides me with a unique perspective on the impact of childhood emotional and behavioural difficulties on learning and academic functioning.
Love felt by the parent does not automatically translate into love experienced by the child.” -Gabor Maté
Meet Chantal Jackson, Registered Psychologist
I hold a Baccalauréat-ès-arts (Distinction) from the FacultéSaint Jean (University of Alberta) and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from City University of Seattle.
I enjoy being active and outdoors, travelling, learning, baking, and experimenting in the kitchen. My husband and I enjoy friendly competition, whether with board games, cards, golf, etc., coaching, and spending time with our friends. With our two children, I love to play, laugh, cut loose and have fun like I did when I was a young girl. Without knowing, they help me keep perspective on the important things in life. I value and work toward balance between all priorities in my life.
