BodyTalk
in [PJD]

At 360° Wellness, we offer a myriad of solutions to address the whole person. The BodyTalk system is developed from WholeHealthcare™ which is designed to support and promote the well-being of any living thing. It considers the profound influence psychology of the body has on your health rather than focusing on a symptom.

With this solution, we can discover the underlying cause of an illness using the biofeedback method of muscle testing. It provides insight to which areas need attention so that the healing process can begin and give long-lasting results.

BodyTalk Principles

There are four basic ideas that BodyTalk is founded on:

Innate Wisdom of the Body

The body is capable of healing at all levels, such as when a finger is cut or an ankle is twisted. This automatic, self-guided process is part of the innate wisdom of the body, which guides the functioning of body and mind, synchronizes activities and maintains balance.

Stress Affects Our Health

Stress profoundly affects the body and its ability to heal and function at optimal levels. When you experience stress, it overloads the circuits in the body, causing them to fail or be compromised.

You can think of it like plugging several appliances into an outlet and causing them to overload a fuse that then needs to be reset. If not reset, the body functions in a less-than-ideal state. Ultimately, stress leads to degeneration, pain and illness. Stress-related illnesses include high blood pressure and heart rate, digestive disorders, fatigue, hormone and endocrine imbalances, infertility and immune system disorders.

Energetic Circuits and Communication

Every cell, atom and system constantly communicate with each other and the rest of the body and mind. The stress in our daily lives creates the energy circuits of the body such as the meridians, nervous system and electromagnetic frequencies. When these circuits are compromised, it weakens communication between cells and systems. We can re-establish efficient communication quickly and effectively so that you can recover, experiencing a diminishing of symptoms and an increase in function with just a couple of sessions.

Trusting the Body’s Wisdom

Just as the body heals a wound with a particular sequence of biochemical, physical and energetic responses, the body addresses all healing in a certain order. This concept is vital in the BodyTalk balancing process to encourage the body’s ability to heal itself by the fastest means possible.

We rely on the guidance of the body’s natural wisdom to not only locate the weakened or broken lines of communication and establish how to re-connect them but also to find the proper order in which they are to be restored. We use neuromuscular biofeedback by asking the body questions and receiving direct answers to re-establish lines of communication.

What to Expect at a BodyTalk Session

BodyTalk sessions are easy, safe and comfortable, done with the client fully clothed. They last 15-45 minutes. The length of a session is not indicative of the quality of the session or the results that occur, as even the simplest sessions can be profound. The body and mind know just how many changes and corrections it is ready to initiate in any given session and will indicate when the session is complete. We may even detect signs of a time when you may need to return for a follow-up session.

Background and Communication

You and your BodyTalk practitioner often begin your session by discussing your health status and whatever other personal issues you may wish to address. Then, you will relax on a treatment table while the practitioner, positioned at your side, will gently use your arm in such a manner to establish communication in the form of a yes or a no. This yes/no communication is also called neuromuscular biofeedback, which is similar to applied kinesiology.

By understanding that your body has an inherent knowledge of itself, the BodyTalk practitioner is able to quickly and easily ask your body what communication circuits have become compromised or where emotions are being stored in the body and in which order these lines of communication need to be re-established and emotions released for the fastest possible healing process to occur.

Tap to Synchronize and Balance

Tapping on the body to get it to focus on healing has been used by some indigenous holistic systems, such as yoga, for centuries. For BodyTalk, tapping on the head tells the brain to “fix” the faulty communication circuit and the heart to “store” the fix. This action activates the brain and helps to facilitate the body’s ability to restore and maintain its optimum health. For every malfunctioning energy circuit or formula found, you or your practitioner may hold the corresponding points with your hands to help provide focus. You may also breathe deeply, as this helps your brain scan the body to locate the imbalances.

The Cumulative Effects

Because your body stores the changes made by the brain during the tapping process, every formula or circuit that is corrected builds on the one before. Your body remembers the BodyTalk sessions it receives, and your healing process will continue with each additional session you have.

Get to Know Leah Harasem, BodyTalk Practitioner

A Passion for Helping Others

LeahLeah became interested in health and well-being at an early age due to a chronic childhood illness that had her hospitalized for much of her childhood. Seeing the effects of illness on others around her had a fundamental impact. After overcoming her health issues with the help of complementary health medicine, she knew she wanted to go into the field of helping and serving others with their health challenges.

As a teen, watching a close family member struggle with drug addictions solidified her decision to help others overcome the barriers in their lives. She went into social work as a career choice. Within a few years, she realized that for her, it was just a bandage solution, and red tape prevented getting true help. She quickly realized that whether dealing with a health issue, an addiction or an emotional issue, you must get to the root cause for healing to occur.

Professional Qualifications and Training

After the birth of her second daughter and seven years in the social work field, Leah became a full-time mom and began independently researching and studying natural and alternative health care. In 2007, she took her Reiki levels 1 & 2 and began practicing while continuing to search for something that would treat the person as a whole, on all levels: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual, that addressed the root cause of symptoms.

In 2008, Bodytalk fell into her lap, and she knew she had at last found what she had been searching for. Leah took a BodyTalk access course in September of 2008 followed by fundamental and advanced courses. In November 2009, she became certified as a practitioner.

She continues to take more courses as part of her lifelong learning journey. Her passion is helping people achieve optimum health and wellness. She welcomes the opportunity to support you and walk the journey with you toward your health and life goals. Leah’s other passions are her family, her two dogs, spending time at the lake and fishing. Quality time with family and friends is one of her primary focuses.
