Dr. Max Dekterov

An Education in Natural Health

An Edmonton local, Dr. Dekterov earned his Bachelor of Science at the University of Alberta. He moved across the country to achieve his dream of becoming a chiropractor at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. Working together with the rest of our team, his patients exceed their recovery expectations with the most up-to-date, effective and customized health care plans.
Professional Training and Certifications

Dr. Dekterov is specialized in several different types of treatments:

  • Neurofunctional acupuncture

He is well-versed in treating many conditions and holds a certification from McMaster University in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture. He sees several different types of injury from acute to chronic and sports injury, having treated Olympic athletes, recreational cyclists and runners of all levels.

Dr. Dekterov’s therapy style combines evidence-based chiropractic care with neurofunctional acupuncture and active rehabilitation. Other areas of interest include Graston, orthotics, Shockwave Therapy, myofascial release and sports-specific nutrition.

Outside of the Practice

Practicing what he preaches to his patients is important to Dr. Dekterov. He spends his time going to seminars to fine-tune his skills, does a great deal of self-directed learning, and attends community meetings and educational talks. Daily physical activities he’s involved in include recreational powerlifting, yoga, rock climbing, road cycling and cross-country skiing. He receives regular chiropractic care, massage and acupuncture.
